The Los Angeles Lakers won the NBA Finals in 6 games over the Miami Heats and Lebron James won the Final’s MVP. Despite a demoralizing lose in game 6, the Heat’s season should not be understated and belittled. Many reporters and analysts , especially Skip Bayless , called the Heat an easy team for the Lakers and did not have the Heat coming anywhere near the Finals. The Heat overtook the SWEPT the Indiana Pacers, nearly SWEPT the 1st seed Milwaukee Bucks, and upset the 3rd seed Boston Celtics. Miami is a well-oiled machine of a team that dominated the Eastern Conference with a team comprised of veterans and young players. Stats and status wise, Jimmy Butler does not compare to the likes of Lebron James, James Harden, and Giannis Antetokounmpo. But he is just as great, if not better, as a leader for a team than any super star in the league. Along side of other veterans and a great coach in Eric Spoelstra, Butler brought a team that does not have much star talent to the NBA Finals. The Heat dominated the East, and they proved without a doubt they deserve to bein the Finals and they were the best team in the East.
Even in the Finals, they were disrespected. In game 5, the Lakers brought out the Mamba Jersey, which the Lakers were undefeated in when they wear them. Anthony Davis wore an all gold pair of Kobe 5 in the same game. The NBA rolled out the coveted championship trophy. Down 3-1, every person in the Bubble expected the Heat to lose. But the Heat put up a fighting effort and took game 5. Even though the Heat got destroyed in game 6, they deserve the same respect as the Lakers. They were the underdogs of the East and the NBA. The veterans of the team Goran Dragic, Jae Crowder, and Andre Iguodala, proved they still have some left in the tank and can still ball. Tyler Herro proved to all the haters that he is a BUCKET. Duncan Robinson proved he belongs in the league, despite going undrafted. Bam Adebayo, even though he made it into the All Stars, showed he still is improving. To all the doubters and Skip Bayless-es, put some respect when you mention Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat.
